It all started in Fulda (Hessen, Germany) in the year 1992, when four fourteen year old school friends decided to form a traditional metal band at a time, when grunge music was at its peak. First they covered songs from their favorite bands, such as Deep Purple, KISS, AC/DC and Iron Maiden. Soon they got bored by playing other people's songs, so they decided to write and record their own songs to get record deal someday. Today they are one of the biggest melodic power metal bands in the world! Vocalist Tobias Sammet has also released solo efforts under the name Avantasia. Tobias Exxel can also be found in Taraxacum.

Way back in the mists of the early 1980's just when the world thought prog rock had been killed off by punk a young band emerged from Aylesbury, England, Marillion took the world by storm with their debut album "Script for a Jester's Tear" in 1983. Mixing classical prog with a distinctly punk attitude they had world wide success. Now fast forward to the present day and Mick Pointer (founding member and drummer of early Marillion) has gathered together some friends and leading lights of today's prog world to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of "Script" . Mick will be joined by Nick Barrett (Pendragon) Mike Varty (Credo/Landmarq) Ian Salmon (Arena) and Brian Cummins (Carpet Crawlers) for these very special shows in Europe. It's going to be nostalgic, and it's going to be fabulously fun, an ideal opportunity to re-live those heady marquee days, a first chance to see this entire show in mainland Europe. For fans of this early album this show has to be a must-see!!!

TYKETTO
|
Fronted by ex-D.O.A. and WAYSTED vocalist Danny Vaughn,
TYKETTO came exceptionally close to breaking into the major league with
their 'Don't Come Easy' album. TYKETTO's Richie Zito produced 1991 debut,
featuring keyboard contributions by Alan Pasqua, was more than a match
for any major league American rock contender containing numerous songs
that should by rights have been major hits. Although a huge favourite
on the AOR scene 'Don't Come Easy' strangely failed to make an impression
on the charts. The band first hit Britain opening for then management stable mates WHITE LION in 1991. UK headline dates in July of 1994, promoting the 'Strength In Numbers' album, saw New Jersey's SHOTGUN SYMPHONY as support. Friction began to show as bassist Jimi Kennedy lost his place to Jamie Scott and vocalist Steve Augeri, formerly with the New York outfit TALL STORIES, made his entrance with 1995's 'Shine'. |
